The Dig Site Location page is used to search for the dig site after filling in your Ticket Details so you can finalize the enquiry. The location process is broken up in 3 simple steps:
- Step 1: Search for dig site location
- Step 2: Draw your dig site
- Step 3: Confirm your dig site
- Step 4: Enter remarks
Step 1: Search for dig site location
You can bring up your site using a Street Address, Intersection, Grid (for LLD or P&NG), or XY co-ordinates. After filling in your criteria, click Search to bring up the map:
For more information, please see our Searching for your dig site location article.
Step 2: Draw your dig site
Once the map has loaded, the next step is to draw out your site. This can be done using the Draw a Polygon tool found at the top-right corner of the map.
There are also options to Pan or Zoom the map, Measure distances, change the underlying map to Satellite or Hybrid views, show the Grid layer(s), or Edit your drawn area if required:
For more information, please see our Drawing the dig site map article.
Step 3: Confirm your dig site
Once the site has been drawn, Step 3 will expand so you can confirm the site’s address and add in any relevant extra information into the Remarks field. If your site is in a remote area, you will also need to confirm the Nearest Community,:
Once the details are correct, you can click Submit to submit your ticket. You may be prompted to complete a reCAPTCHA challenge to verify you’re “Not a robot” – click here if you need assistance with this.
Once the ticket has been submitted, you will be taken to the Ticket Summary screen where you can view a list of notified utilities affected by your ticket. These registered utilities will be contacted and requested to respond with their locate services before the indicated start date on the ticket.
